Shed A Light donors joined founder Sheryl Bohlander and Director Diana Goodman for a special afternoon with the A-Visions staff and several of the A-Visions participants.
We were struck by the candor with which the A-Vision participants introduced themselves, announced what mental illness they were diagnosed with, and how the program has changed their lives. It was truly inspiring and uplifting to know that having a mental illness does not have to mean a life without hope.
The staff was equally amazing – giving meaning and purpose to the participants through vocational education, giving hope through their therapy sessions and coaching, and changing lives with their employment opportunities within Scripps.
